Buying

Every piece available at The Peeled Closet is a pre-loved, one-of-one item sold on consignment. Prices are listed in US dollars.

All sales are final. Because every piece is unique and pre-owned, we are committed to providing you with the information you need to make an informed purchase. Our listings include real photographs of the item, its condition, measurements, and any relevant details or visible signs of wear. We do not accept returns or exchanges, except where Mexican consumer law requires otherwise. If a piece reaches you and it is not what we described, or it arrives damaged in transit, write us on WhatsApp or at contact@thepeeledcloset.com with photos and a real person will look at it with you. If you have any questions about an item or would like additional information before purchasing, please contact us via WhatsApp. We are always happy to help before you make your decision.

Items may be placed on hold for a limited period of time. If payment is not completed within the specified timeframe, the hold will automatically be released and the item will become available for sale again.

Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout. We work with trusted carriers such as FedEx and DHL; however, delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the carrier, destination, customs, or circumstances outside of our control.

Consigning

By submitting an item to The Peeled Closet, you confirm that you are its rightful owner and have the authority to consign it.

All submissions are reviewed before being accepted. If your item is accepted based on the information and photographs provided but, once received at our offices, its condition, authenticity, measurements, or other relevant characteristics are materially different from what was submitted, we may choose not to consign it. In this case, the item will be returned to you and all return shipping costs will be your responsibility.

By choosing to consign with us, you acknowledge and accept our commission structure. Your payout percentage is determined by the price at which your item is originally listed, so a later price drop never moves you to a worse band.

The Peeled Closet

You keep 70% for items listed under $2,000 USD, 75% for items listed from $2,000 to $4,999 USD, and 80% for items listed at $5,000 USD or above.

The Peeled Bride

You keep 70% for items listed under $2,500 USD, 75% for items listed from $2,500 to $5,999 USD, and 80% for items listed at $6,000 USD or above.

Once your item arrives at our offices, it will be stored in a climate-controlled environment and handled with the utmost care. As part of the selling process, however, items may be handled, photographed, displayed, and tried on by potential buyers. We ask all clients to treat our pieces carefully, but normal handling and try-ons carry an inherent risk of wear or accidental damage. By consigning with us, you acknowledge this risk and agree that The Peeled Closet is not responsible for damage resulting from ordinary handling or try-ons, except where required by applicable law.

The initial consignment period is 3 months. If you request your item back before the end of this period, a $50 USD early-withdrawal fee will apply, in addition to any return shipping costs.

After the 3-month consignment period, you may request your item back without an early-withdrawal fee; however, any shipping costs required to return the item remain your responsibility. After this period, The Peeled Closet may also decide not to continue offering an unsold item and request that it be picked up or returned to you.

Pieces shipped from outside México may be sent through our Laredo, Texas address and are subject to a $50 USD Laredo–Monterrey route fee, deducted from your payout when the item sells. Any applicable import duties, taxes, customs fees, or other charges associated with sending an item to us are the responsibility of the sender and must be paid before delivery. Packages arriving with unpaid charges may be refused and returned.

Payouts are issued approximately 30 business days after the sale and are sent through the seller’s selected payment method on file.

General

The Peeled Closet acts as a sales commission agent (comisión mercantil) under Mexican commercial law.

By purchasing or consigning through The Peeled Closet, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service.

These terms are governed by the laws of México. Any dispute arising from the use of our services will be subject to the applicable jurisdiction in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

The Peeled Closet, by Bananas Box, is responsible for protecting the personal information you share with us in accordance with applicable Mexican privacy laws (Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares, LFPDPPP).

Information We Collect

When you shop or consign with us, we may collect your name, email, phone number, shipping information, purchase or consignment details, item photos and information, and, when necessary, payment details such as your CLABE or Zelle information.

Our website may also store basic technical information necessary for features such as your account, shopping bag, holds, wishlist, and recently viewed items.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only as necessary to provide our services, including processing purchases and holds, managing consignments, shipping orders, issuing payouts, managing Peeled Club memberships, communicating with you, and improving our services.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share necessary information with trusted service providers that help us operate, including payment processors, shipping carriers such as FedEx and DHL, hosting providers, and WhatsApp. Some providers may process information outside of México.

Your Information & Rights

We take reasonable measures to protect your information and limit access to sensitive information, such as bank details, to the team members who need it. We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with applicable legal and tax requirements.

Under Mexican privacy law, you may request to access, correct, delete, or oppose the use of your personal information, as well as revoke your consent when applicable. To make a request or ask us anything about your information, simply contact us through WhatsApp. We will respond within 20 business days, as the LFPDPPP provides. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may go to the INAI (Instituto Nacional de Transparencia, Acceso a la Información y Protección de Datos Personales).

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page.

All sales
are final.

Every piece we sell is a one-of-one. Once it finds its new closet, the sale is final: we do not accept returns or exchanges, except where Mexican consumer law requires otherwise. That is how a one-of-one closet keeps moving.

Every piece is physically here before it is listed. We photograph it as it is, measure it, and write down its condition and its flaws. Want another photo, a video or a measurement? Ask on WhatsApp before you buy — we would rather over-answer than have you guess.

Nothing is listed from a photo someone sent us. Every piece is physically here, in our hands, before it goes on the site. No drop-shipping, no "seller says".

What we do with it

We go over each piece by hand: materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and codes, and whatever came with it (receipts, dust bags, boxes, cards). Then we measure it, photograph it as it is, and write down its condition and its flaws. What we find is what the listing says.
