Buying

Every piece on The Peeled Closet is a pre-loved, one-of-one item sold on consignment. Prices are in US dollars. All sales are final, backed by our Authenticity Guarantee: if a piece is ever found to be inauthentic or materially not as described, we refund you in full.

Reserving a piece holds it for a limited time; a piece is only yours once payment is completed through our secure checkout. Insured shipping and showroom pickup options, costs and delivery estimates are shown before you pay.

Consigning

By submitting a piece you confirm you are its rightful owner. Once you accept our quote, the consignment period runs for 3 months. Commissions are tiered by sale price. For The Peeled Closet you keep 70% under $2,000 USD, 75% from $2,000 to $4,999, and 80% at $5,000 or above. For The Peeled Bride you keep 70% under $2,500 USD, 75% from $2,500 to $5,999, and 80% at $6,000 or above. Pieces shipped from the US carry a $50 USD route cost, deducted from your payout at sale.

You may request your item back at any time; before the end of the consignment period a $50 USD early-withdrawal fee applies, plus return shipping. Payouts are processed on the 15th of the month following the sale, to the CLABE or Zelle on file.

General

The Peeled Closet acts as a sales commission agent (comisión mercantil) under Mexican commercial law. These terms are governed by the laws of México; any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Monterrey, Nuevo León. Questions? We are one WhatsApp away.

Who is responsible

The Peeled Closet, by Bananas Box ("we"), operating from Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, is responsible for the personal data you share with us, in terms of the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP) and its regulations. You can reach us for anything privacy-related through WhatsApp — the same channel you already use with us.

What we collect

If you shop with us: your name, email, phone, shipping address, and your purchase, hold and wishlist history. If you consign with us: your name, phone, email, the details and photos of your pieces, purchase invoices when you provide them, and — only if you sell — the bank account (CLABE) or Zelle details where we pay your share. If you simply browse: the technical minimum (a session cookie if you sign in, and local storage on your device for your bag, holds and recently viewed pieces). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Why we collect it

Primary purposes, needed to serve you: authenticate and list consigned pieces, process purchases and holds, ship and insure deliveries, pay consignors their share, issue the corresponding receipts, and contact you on WhatsApp about your pieces or orders. Secondary purposes: running your PEELED CLUB membership tiers and improving our service. If you prefer we not use your data for secondary purposes, tell us through the ARCO channel below — it will not affect your ability to buy or sell with us.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. It is shared only with the providers strictly needed to operate, under their own confidentiality obligations: payment processing (Stripe — your card data is handled end-to-end by them and never touches our servers), secure infrastructure and data hosting (Supabase, Vercel — servers may be located outside México, in the United States), shipping carriers (DHL, including the insurance claims process), and messaging (WhatsApp, when you contact us there). These transfers are necessary for the service you are requesting; by using the service you consent to them in terms of article 36 of the LFPDPPP.

How we protect it

Data travels encrypted, access to consignor and payout information is restricted to our team with multi-factor authentication, and bank details are visible only to the people who process payouts. We keep your data while your account or consignment relationship is active and for the periods required by tax and commercial law, then delete or anonymize it.

Your rights (ARCO)

You may access, rectify, cancel or oppose the use of your data at any time (ARCO rights), and revoke consent or limit use and disclosure. Write to us on WhatsApp with your name, a copy of an ID and what you need; we will respond within 20 business days as the LFPDPPP provides. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may go to the INAI (Instituto Nacional de Transparencia, Acceso a la Información y Protección de Datos Personales).

Changes to this notice

Any change to this notice will be published on this page, with its date of update. Continued use of the service after a change means you are aware of the updated notice.

If a piece is ever found to be inauthentic, or materially different from its description or measurements, we refund you in full, including shipping. Reach out within 48 hours of delivery with photos and we take it from there.

Damaged in transit

Every shipment travels insured with DHL, tracked and signed for. If a piece arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours and we will manage the insurance claim and make it right.

Questions before you buy? Measurements, extra photos, video — just ask on WhatsApp. We would rather over-answer than have you guess.
